EquiCalm Plus is a stronger formulation than EquiCalm. It also can be used to calm fractious, over anxious or nervous horses. It has been widely used to settle horses, during various types of training and competition
EquiCalm Plus is particularly useful as an aid in educating young horses, helping to settle horses during their inevitable first exposure to transportation, shoeing, teeth or vet inspection.
EquiCalm Plus does not impair the horses ability to learn or its judgment. It is not a sedative and will not show a strong sedating action. Unlike sedating agents EquiCalm Plus is safe to administer even if the horse is already excited.
EquiCalm Plus has been safely used on horses participating in dressage, eventing, endurance, racing, show jumping and hunting.
EquiCalm Plus is quick acting. You should see an effect within 30 minutes, although it may take an hour to achieve maximum effect. This will vary between individual horses.
Contents: Herbal extracts of Valerian and Wild Lettuce.
CAUTION: Valerian will cause a positive swab as a prohibited substance. Care should be therefore be taken if participating in an event that may be testing the horses for prohibited substances.
Until recently Valerian has not been tested for, by either the Jockey Club or the FEI. That has now changed and the FEI has recently started testing for Valerian. Several horses in Europe have tested positive including one at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.

"I bought Equine Herbals V-Calm and Devils Claw Flex from a recent VIP night at Clarefville Saddlery in Carterton. I used V-Calm for the first time this weekend before a SJ event.
My horse was wound like a tightly coiled spring before I loaded him on to the float. 40 minutes later when at the show and tacking up he was as quiet and gentle as a lamb. Stood completely still for me to boot him up and was very relaxed when working in.
We went on to have a very sucessful day and I believe that his softened attitude really helped us both."
Thanks for a great product!

To Whom It May Concern:Re: V-Calm
This is to certify that our clinic has stocked and sold "V-Calm" for approximately the last eighteen months.
I have personally seen it used on some nervous / insecure yearling thoroughbreds, and while effects are variable, I have seen some very good responses with significant calming of individual horses.
It is good to see that people who have bought this product have often returned and bought more, appreciating the chance to calm nervous horses without having to resort to traditional drugs.

"Hi, I feel I must drop you a line about V-Calm.
I was at my wits end with my horse, a 5 year old ArabxHanovarian/TB gelding. He's very highly strung and I had given up competing him in dressage comps as he would be so spooky he wouldn't listen to me at all and would be constantly looking at scarey things around the arena.
I phoned up the helpline and spoke to a very helpful lady who recommended V-Calm. I bought some the next day and put him on to 20mls a day starting on Thursday last week, on Friday and Saturday he was much more settled to ride, listening to me and cooperative!
On sunday I went to a dressage competition, and did prelim 4 and 7.
I gave Axel 60mls of V-Calm that morning.
Axel was settled in the warm up and only slightly spooky in the arena, looking at the flowers and the judges car. He was trying really hard to concentrate on me and wasn't being his usual argumentative self at all. He went nicely and I was delighted to get 62% and 2nd place in P4 and 65.5% and 1st place in P7!!!
I'm sure it was the effect of the V-Calm as I hadn't done anything else differently, and I'd like to say a big thank you and I will be using it all the time from now on.
Would highly recommend this product."
Thanks again.
